New Delhi: The sudden demise of popular television actress Pratyusha Banerjee aka Aanandi of 'Balika Vadhu' fame has shocked not just her friends and family but the entire nation. Soon after her death, revelations related to her personal life are coming out in open.

TOI quoted her close friend and telly actress Sara Khan as saying, “Piyu (Pratyusha) tried committing suicide twice in the last two months. My maid, who used to work at her place earlier, told me a few days ago that she had tried to consume poison once and on another occasion, had tried to jump out from her balcony."

"She constantly asked Rahul when they would tie the knot and sometimes even wore sindoor. She had even kept her wedding joda ready. There was too much tension between them, as Rahul would constantly comment on her previous relationships. That would affect her. Recently his ex-girlfriend Saloni had come to their house and they had a showdown"

Mumbai: Pratyusha Banerjee’s untimely demise has left the TV fraternity in complete disbelief. The actor best known for essaying the character of Anandi in ‘Balika Vadhu’ was found hanging in her residence in Mumbai on Friday.

Her friends have held her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh responsible for her suicide. Singh reportedly cheated on Pratyusha by getting engaged to some other girl.

Pratyusha was just 24-years-old. She had been a part of popular TV shows – Sasural Simar Ka’,‘Hum Hai Na’ and had even appeared in ‘Bigg Boss’ season 7 as a participant.

Though she was not an active Twitter user, she occasionally connected with her followers.

Mumbai: It seems after Dolly Bindra, Rakhi Sawant has also decided to garner some publicity out of the tragic death of 'Balika Vadhu' actress Pratyusha Banerjee.

According to a report in Bollywoodlife.com, drama queen Rakhi Sawant on Tuesday called a press conference at Oshiwara police station to make some revelations about the mysterious death of the 24-year-old.

Rakhi dressed up in all black outfit walked into the venue with a ceiling fan in hand and demanded justice for the late Pratyusha Banerjee whom she addressed as 'Hindustan ki beti'. She further requested the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ban ceiling fans in the country, claiming it to be the prime reason for the suicides. She also demanded a sum of Rs 5 crore for the Banerjee family.

Rakhi claimed that Saloni Sharma who is Rahul Raj Singh's alleged ex-wife had sent Pratyusha some videos before her tragic death.

It is sick to see how some celebrities instead of giving a crying shoulder to the family are busy seeking publicity through the shocking demise of Pratyusha Banerjee.

Mumbai: Parents of TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee, who allegedly committed suicide, today alleged that her daughter took the extreme step as she was subjected to torture by her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh.

Rahul, a TV producer, who is currently in hospital, was today booked after police registered an FIR based on a complaint filed by Banerjee's mother Soma at Bangurnagar Police Station.

"He (Rahul) should not get out. My daughter should get justice and I would like to appeal to the entire nation to help me in seeking justice for my daughter. He tortured my daughter a lot and finished her," Soma told reporters here after the prayer meet held in memory of Pratyusha.

Asked what kind of justice she expects, Soma said, "He should be kept alive in jail and made to suffer for his entire lifetime."

Pratyusha's father Shankar Banerjee, said, "We could not come out in the open earlier as Pratyusha's last rites were not performed. Today, we lodged an FIR against Rahul and told the police about her suffering."

"Our world has been shattered. It doesn't matter if he (Rahul) is hanged or gets life imprisonment. Our daughter's soul won't rest in peace unless he is punished...We trust the law and have faith that truth will ultimately come out," he said.

They alleged Rahul used to scare their daughter and alienated her from her friends.
Accusing Rahul of being a fraud, they said, "We are fighting this case, so that these things never happens to any other girl. He should get the strictest punishment. We are getting full support from police and are sure that justice would be done."

Recalling his last conversation with Pratyusha, Shankar said, "She was very interested in astrology and would ask me to read her horoscope. Her star sign was Leo. I was telling her that it was a good year for her. Then I heard her door bell rang and she hung up the phone saying she will talk later."

Her mother Soma said like any other girl Pratyusha had a dream of getting married. "Like any other girl Pratyusha had a dream of getting married and have kids. But lately she realised that she had taken a wrong decision and lost her life while doing the wrong right," she said.

Besides family and friends, a host of television personalities like Kamya Punjabi, Vikas Gupta, Sara Khan, Shashank Vyas, Jay Bhanusali, Deepshikha Nagpal, Anuj Sachdeva, Sangram Singh and Rohit Verma and others were present at the prayer meet.

New Delhi: The curious case of television actress Pratyusha Banerjee's death has completely toppled our minds, and with each passing day a new angle makes it even more complicated.

According to TOI, Madhu Mahanand, who was a fan of the television actress has reportedly killed herself in Raipur and that too in front of her 2-year-old son on Wednesday. The 26-year-old woman had been keeping a track on the developments taking place in Pratyusha's case, her husband Nakul revealed.

It has been reported that Madhu was so attached to the character, Pratyusha played on-screen that she locked herself in the room with her son. After that she was found hanging in the room, reportedly.

Her husband Nakul came to know about this alleged suicide only after he reached home and had to force open the door as it was locked from inside. The police initially took Nakul in custody, suspecting foul play but he was later let off, once Madhu's parents revealed about their daughter's love for Pratyusha's on-screen character 'Aanandi' in 'Balika Vadhu'.

Mumbai: This time it's Pratyusha Banerjee's ex-maid who has made yet another shocking revelations in the tragic death of the 'Balika Vadhu' actress.

According to a report in mid-day, She was working as a maid in Pratyusha's residence in Kandivali and then moved with her to her Goregaon residence, but she had to quit the job on March 20th because Pratyusha was financially broken by that time.

She further revealed that despite repeated requests by Pratyusha's mother to leave him, the 24-year-old never gave an ear to her mother's advice. Rather, fought with her over Rahul.

Rahul in turn asked her not to keep any contact with her parents. But, the maid adviced her to give her money to her parents, instead of spending it on him.

Pratyusha never really bothered about it and even allegedly asked her mother to leave the house. This attitude encouraged Rahul to block her parents phone numbers on her phone.

She further revealed that Pratyusha wanted to get married soon, as she felt the odd one out in a group where all her friends were already married and she used to feel like a kid.

According to the maid, Pratyusha was a very lively girl who would love to hang out with frineds, where as her boyfriend was afraid that this attitude will make her meet her former boyfriend.

She further accused that Rahul had made an abusive call when he was in Sri Lanka, accusing the 24-year-old of meeting her ex-boyfriend. This left Pratyusha in tears. The maid firmly believed that though Pratyusha was madly in love with him, but Rahul was just faking all this while.

She further revealed that Pratyusha was so broken that she had taken financial aid from her atleast six to seven times. Her financial condition worsened after shifting to Goregaon residence that also made her drunkard.

She had not any big project in her kitty for the past three years and Rahul would take away whatever little she earned from other work.

She was so frustrated with the industry that she had planned to start a travel agency, for which she required a sum of Rs 4 lakh. Lastly, the maid felt that Rahul's commitment failure to marriage was a prime reason that led her to such a horrendous end.  

Mumbai: Pratyusha Banerjee's boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh who was admitted to the hospital on April 3rd with a complaint of chest pain and depression is finally discharged.

According to a report in Indian Express, the doctor Santosh Goel of Shree Sai Hospital in Kandivali East has been quoted saying ''Rahul was under depression and even had suicidal thoughts so needed proper care and rest. Today morning a psychiatrist came and examined him and said that the patient was better, but could come back if required on OPD basis.''

Rahul who was accused for the suicide of Pratyusha has been granted interim bail till April 18th by the Bombay High Court.

New Delhi: Fresh trouble has come up for late television actress Pratyusha Banerjee's boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh, who was discharged from the hospital today.

Rahul Raj Singh was hospitalised in Shree Sai hospital in Mumbai after he complained of chest pain, a day after Pratyusha was found hanging from her ceiling fan at her residence.

Meanwhile, according to ANI reports, Pratyusha's father has filed a complaint to the Indian Medical Association (IMA) against the hospital for shielding Rahul Raj Singh in the case in exchange of money from him.

Reacting to the allegations, Dr. SJ Goel of Shree Sai hospital, who was treating Rahul, told ANI that she, along with a psychiatrist and two councilors, has given day to day bulletin to the police for evaluation.

Goel also claimed that the Rahul was also suffering from restless leg syndrome and was therefore under observation.

"I can understand Pratyusha's parents are sad as they have lost their daughter and my sympathy is with them, but its police's work to find out who the criminal is, I don't know anything," Dr Goel added.

After being discharged from the hospital, Rahul appeared before the Bangur Nagar police station today afternoon.

Rahul has been booked for abetting the suicide of the 24-year-old TV actress on April 1, has been granted interim protection from arrest till April 18 by the Bombay High Court.

New Delhi: In a startling twist, television actress Pratyusha Banerjee's alleged suicide has become a mystery waiting to be unfold. On April 19, several reports suggested that the Balika Vadhu actress was pregnant and might have gone for abortion much before she was found dead, reportedly.

Now, as per TOI, Pratyusha's boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh has told cops that he knew about her pregnancy. However, earlier he had denied any such report.

The news about her pregnancy was confirmed by the doctors of JJ Hospital, Mumbai. The report further states that it will be hard for police to determine the father of her child as the resources left may not be enough for a DNA analysis.

According to TOI, Rahul's former lawyer Neeraj Gupta has been quoted as saying, “Pratyusha was eager to get married and her family has learnt that she was keen to have a girl child. The police should investigate if she was forced to undergo an abortion and if Rahul had threatened to get out of the relationship. If true, this could form crucial evidence against Rahul, who has been booked for abetment”.

Mumbai: She has been a part of several reality shows in the past but TV actress Mahi Vij says she cannot see herself taking part in "Bigg Boss" as it would require her to be cut off from her family.

Mahi, best known for playing the role of Nakusha in "Laagi Tujhse Lagan", tried her luck in reality show like "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" and "Nach Baliye". "I love to watch Bigg Boss. It's my favourite show but I can't be a part of it. I can't leave my family, I can't do without talking to them. It will be quite challenging for me," Mahi told PTI.

The actress, who last featured on the seventh season of "Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi" with husband Jay Bhanushali, will be next seen in "Balika Vadhu... Lamhe Pyaar Ke". Mahi says she took time to do a fiction show after her popular TV series "Laagi Tujhse Lagan" ended in 2012.

"I couldn't get anything which would get me out of my comfort zone. I was very comfortable at home. But this show did pull me out of it. I did Fear Factor because it was for a short span. I was travelling with my husband for the show, so it was good thing," she said.

"But doing a fiction show is definitely a little pressure, as a wife and not as an actress. Because there is a system at home, so accordingly everything happens. But now even that is getting sorted out. Jay is doing half of the things and I do the other," she added.

"Balika Vadhu...Lamhe Pyaar Ke" will be new a chapter to the popular TV series and will chronicle the journey of Anandi's daughter, Nandini (played by Mahi) who is a doctor. The actress is aware that it will be a challenge to retain the loyal audience of the show without the flagship character of Anandi, but is confident the show will touch new heights.

"Yes, obviously it will be a challenge because the audience has been used to watching the character which has become iconic. To make sure the audience who loved it doesn't go anywhere else will be a challenge. But I hope the love they gave to Anandi for so many years, I get it too," he further said.

"Balika Vadhu... Lamhe Pyaar Ke" also stars Ruslaan Mumtaz and Avinash Sachdev. The show will premiere of April 25 on Colors.

Mumbai: A new twist has hit the Pratyusha Banerjee suicide case, who was found dead at her flat in suburban Goregaon on April 1, 2016. 

As per a report in India today, following Rahul Raj Singh's anticipatory bail plea hearing, the public prosecutor said that the early leads suggested the actress was murdered.

However, the Mumbai police said that they could apply murder charges on Rahul Raj Singh only after they get his custody.

According to another report, initial investigation suggests that ''Rahul could have entered the building (where Pratyusha hanged herself from the ceiling) through the adjacent window, but wasted a good half an hour in calling the neighbour. 

A source revealed that Pratyusha's dupatta wasn't hanging but was kept aside. Also, no object was found using which Pratyusha could have climbed to reach the ceiling fan to commit suicide.''

Meanwhile, Rahul is currently out on an anticipatory bail granted by the Bombay High Court.

Latest updates on the tragic case reveal that the Bombay High Court had refused to transfer the case to the crime branch, despite late Pratyusha's mother Shoma Banerjee's appeal.

Mumbai: Television serial "Balika Vadhu" has made its way to the Limca Books of Records as the longest running daily fiction soap in Hindi, with a run of over 2,000 episodes.

The show began by delving into the social issue of child marriages. It traced the life of young bride Anandi, whose life goes through ups and downs after she is married at a young age to Jagdish. Her trials and tribulations, and her fight against the social system forms the crux of the story, which has now moved to telling her the journey of her daughter Nandini.

As far as the current narrative is concerned, "Balika Vadhu" is now gearing up for a love triangle between Nandini (Mahhi Vij), Amit (Avinash Sachdev) and Krish (Ruslaan Mumtaz).

Mumbai: One of Indian TV’s longest running shows – Balika Vadhu – will go off air on July 31, reports suggest. With the blissful marital union of Nandini (Mahhi Vij) and Krish (Ruslaan Mumtaz), in the show’s latest track, the story seems to have reached its zenith.

‘Balika Vadhu’ was hugely popular among the masses owing to its content and theme that focused on the ill-effects of child marriage. And now after 8 years, the show will end. Low TRPs are believed to be partly responsible for the show's culmination, reports indicate.

Mahhi, who plays the show’s original protagonist Anandi’s daughter after the show took a leap, feels that ‘Balika Vadhu’ was not promoted well after the time slot changed. Though she is yet to be informed officially about the end of the show, Mahhi believes that many followers of the show weren’t aware of the change in the show’s telecast, a report in Times of India suggests.

The show has run its course successfully for eight years and is now ready for the curtains.

Mumbai: The pretty girl, who played Gehna in ‘Balika Vadhu’ - Neha Marda – is happily married to Aayushman Agrawal, a businessman from Patna. Though Neha’s marriage was arranged by her parents, she feels blissful to have found the love of her life in Aayushman.

She keeps juggling between Mumbai and Patna to maintain a balance between her professional and personal lives.

Mumbai: The parents of actress Pratyusha Banerjee, who was found dead on April 1 here, have sought re-investigation of her alleged suicide.

A purported transcript of Pratyusha's last telephonic conversation with her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh has reportedly come out, suggesting that the police might have overlooked several aspects of the case related to the 'Balika Vadhu' actress' death. 

"We have decided to take the next step and now we want either crime branch or the CBI to investigate this case. For that purpose we have given a written application to the sessions court," Neeraj Gupta, the advocate for Pratyusha's parents, told IANS.

Gupta said the police has not been co-operative and has supported Singh to destroy some evidence.

"There is some conspiracy that's going on. The police has not been co-operative with us at all. They have supported Rahul to destroy some evidence which was very crucial for our case. I have raised so many issues, but it all went unanswered.

"So now we have decided to not go through the local police and have demanded for a re-investigation. We now want the crime branch to investigate this matter," Gupta added.

Pratyusha, known for her role of adult Anandi in the serial "Balika Vadhu", was found hanging from a fan at her Goregaon residence. She was taken to a hospital where she was declared brought dead.

Singh has been accused of abetting her suicide. He has not taken kindly to a media report accusing him of forcing Pratyusha into prostitution, and referred to his last conversation with Pratyusha that has come out.

He says that according to the transcript of the last phone call, "she (Pratyusha) is clearly blaming her parents for pushing her into prostitution and spoiling her name".

"At one point she can also be heard saying that she actually doubts her parentage. If you will read my part, I can be clearly heard reassuring her not to take all this seriously and to even file a case against her family for tarnishing her name," he said.
